A Different Part of Town

Weeping Cross Lane... an odd title for a road don't you think? Well, as you may have guessed, it does have roots in history...
"The name of the "Weeping Cross," yet retained by this land mark, serves to preserve the traditionary record of a Cross, and indicates the probability that not far distant from it, there may in ancient times have been a monkish cell or anchoritage.

It is generally believed that the Ackwynfan, or stone of lamentation, was peculiar to the ancient Britons, and erected by them sometime previous to the mission of St. Augustine. Erections of this denomination consisted of one solid stone upwards of twelve feet high, with a rounded head, on which was the figure of a cross ornamented with singular sculptures.

Beside these sacred pillars the weeping penitent was conducted to confess his sins to the officiating priest."

Spirits talk through Echovox again!

I finished work at 12, went home for a cuppa and then went out back to the site of the old Cattle Market for another EVP session.

I recently purchased the P-SB7 and I've been wanting to try it out in the field for a couple of days, but with working and all that, it was pretty impossible.

I took it down to Tesco last night but unfortunately, I didn't get anything worthy of note. I did however conduct an echovox session with some impressive results!

As ever, let me know your thoughts.

Pissed off Spirit. Echovox EVP

Ok, as I don't have a lot of time to conduct research into the paranormal, I have to get an investigation in, and where I can.
I went out for the weekly food shop last night to Tesco's which just so happens to be built right on top of an old cattle market that had been around since the town of Ludlow was founded.

I thought,"What better place to do a short session", plus I still had half an hour on the carpark ticket.

As I was asking questions, there were people and cars passing by so the audio wasn't perfectly clean. I only had two class-A EVPs from this and both are a little disturbing.

Be aware that the second EVP calls me a pretty bad name, so if foul language offends you then don't watch.

I honestly didn't expect anything to happen, although this might be a good location to think about in the future. I will most likely go after the store closes for the day and hopefully will be able to capture some more.

I don't know when this will happen, possibly later on this week, but for now, I'm putting it to the top of the list.

My Thoughts

Perhaps the spirits that are still there are not happy with the shop having been built?
The energy created by so many people (most stressed out from shopping) has caused residual activity? or given intelligent spirits enough energy to communicate.

It seems to me, that the older the spirit, the more energy it needs to communicate... perhaps even spirits get old and lose energy?

Let me know your thoughts...

Possible haunted locations...

*** Weeping cross lane:
Monks would forgive weeping worshippers at an ancient standing stone in which they had carved a cross.

- already has a weird feeling about it so seems interesting.

***** Gallows bank:
Criminals; petty and serious, would be hung for crimes infront of the whole population of Ludlow. The weird thing it's that they would be hung for the silliest of crimes such as thievery?

- Not too creepy... used to play there as a kid on the actual tree so might have some connection to the place perhaps?

***** The hospital: Was once a workhouse for the poor who were called 'in mates' the conditions depended on the generosity of the local gentry. Not brilliant in most regards.

- dunno about this one but might be that it is still haunted by the old inmates, or, more likely it's going to be haunted by those that have died there more recently ?
